About Timothy Tapia
Timothy Tapia is a dual-certified Special Education Teacher in New York State with experience supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. He specializes in helping students strengthen foundational skills, build executive functioning habits, and develop the confidence needed to succeed long-term.
With a Master’s degree in Adolescence Education and Special Education from Mercy College and a Bachelor’s degree in History from The City College of New York, Mr. Tapia combines subject expertise with structured instructional strategies designed for diverse learners.
His background in History enhances his work with middle and high school students, particularly in reading comprehension, analytical writing, Regents preparation, and critical thinking development.
Before becoming a teacher, Mr. Tapia served as Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for New York State Attorney General Letitia James. In that role, he managed strategic communications and partnerships with state officials and advocacy leaders. His broader career includes leadership roles with prominent New York City organizations focused on community engagement and public service.
In 2024, he was recognized as one of the most powerful and influential people in the Bronx and was selected as one of City & State’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars.
Today, he brings his leadership experience, classroom expertise, and commitment to community into Younique Student Services — building a virtual platform that supports:
